This Is The Background Of My Tank
Pics of the filtration system and overall setup.

My diy sump/refugium
I made this sump to replicate the Ecosytem setup by using an old 40g tank and added glass partitions and drilled for my AmpMaster 3000 return pump. Now since I've converted over to sps', I've added a skimmer to help with the filtration.
This is one of my diy sump/refugium ecosystem filtration.
I no longer have the bio-balls in the first chamber, but instead I use it as an aeration chamber to dissipate the Co2 from the calcium reactor effluent with the air bubbles created from the overflow, skimmer, and top-off. I have lr, macro, sponges, and feather dusters in the main chamber as well as my EuroReef CS8-2 Skimmer.
This is my Hawkdl2 Reactor with my UV Sterilizer.
I keep my tank water at;
400-450 Ca,
8-9 dKH,
8-8.2 pH,
1.024-1.025 Specific Gravity

Since adding the reactor, it's been very easy to maintain these readings.
My Lighting System.
I have since upgraded my lighting to two 400w and two 250w 10k Ushios. I tried 20k's and went back to 10k's in less than a month. Since my tank is long and narrow, I use three 3ft PFO Parallel Reflectors. My canopy is open from the top so I don't have to worry about heat buildup.
Miscellanous Equipment
I added these shelves for my tank stuff. My standard PFO ballasts and cO2 tank are also in this area.
LifeReef Overflow w/ diy blk acrylic covers.
I got tired of cleaning all the hair algae buildup in my overflows, that I made these blk covers for them to keep light out and now I never clean out my u-tubes and boxes anymore. :c)
Web Camera
I try to keep the webcam on between 9am to 3pm PST.
